5. Less confidence in the white sugar
Excessive sugar consumption is a serious health crisis that doctors believe is fueling the obesity epidemic. Refined sugars are found in so many foods, under so many different names, that even people who are trying to eat healthier can fall victim to it. If you’re really committed to reducing your sugar intake, it’s best to eat, almost exclusively, home-cooked meals.
To do this, dates are an excellent substitute for sugar. Eating them whole is a sweet and pleasant pleasure, but you can also substitute sugar for dates in many recipes. Simply mix the dates and water in a blender until you get a paste. The paste can be substituted at a ratio of 1 to 1 for the sugar in whatever you are preparing. While date paste is fairly high in calories, it contains dietary fiber and antioxidants, something that white, refined sugar doesn’t.
