5. Meat and fish
Within this group, salmon and turkey stand out. In the specific case of the former, salmon belongs to the group known as oily fish and, as with nuts, it has a high content of omega-3 acids. On the other hand, turkey meat provides a series of amino acids among which tryptophan or phenylalanine also found in milk.
6. Sweets
Of course, the consumption of sweet foods also has an important effect on mood. Chocolate is the big player in this group. It is popularly said that consuming cocoa makes you experience the same sensations as when you are in love. And this has a scientific explanation: its nutritional content. On the one hand, chocolate contains the already mentioned amino acid tryptophan as well as phenylethylamine. The latter acts as a neurotransmitter in the body and produces a sensation in the brain similar to that of being in love. In addition, cocoa also contains theobromine -which helps muscles to relax- and flavonol -which helps delay cellular aging.
